Our information and events are featured in the "Generations" section of THE RECORD on the last Wednesday of the month and in the "Senior Corner" section of the Wilkes Journal-Patriot on the first Wednesday of the month.

Radio:

Every Tuesday and Friday at 7:30am join us on WKBC AM800 for the "Wilkes Senior Moment".

Go to
www.wilkeslive.com and register as a user there. Once you are registered, join the group, "Friends of the Wilkes Senior Center". Every time we publish an update of senior center events, you'll get an email from the group notifying you of the latest from the Senior Center.

FAQ


Q: Are there any membership fees for use of the senior center?
A: No, there are not; however, some of our events or classes may involve fees which will always be announced ahead of time.

Q: What age do you consider to be "senior".
A: Our activities are intended for seniors ages 55 and better.


Q: Are your trips for seniors only?
A: No, we encourage adults of all ages to come with us on our trips. In some cases, we open our trips up to children/grandchildren (depending on the destination and duration); however, an appropriate age is always specified in these cases.


Q: Are you opened on the weekends?
A: No, we are opened Monday - Friday 8:30am-4:00pm.


Q: Is there an area to leave my grandkids to play while I use the facility?
A: No children are to be left unattended inside the senior center facility.
