Wilkes Senior Center
Mission Statement
The mission of the Wilkes Senior Center is to promote and improve the well-being of older adults in Wilkes County by responding to their diverse needs and interests, enhancing their dignity, supporting their independence, and encouraging their involvement in and with the center and the community.
The center, a United Way agency, relocated to the Fairplains community in 2006, occupying the former Fairplains Elementary School. Other agencies housed with the Wilkes Senior Center include Respite Care, Wilkes Senior Citizens' Council, and BROC which operates an elderly nutrition site.
